A Day in the Life with RISO UK Technical Services

Behind the scenes with the people who keep our customers printing.

At RISO UK, we hear it every single day.

From schools and businesses across the country, the feedback is remarkably consistent: our technical service team are brilliant. Responsive, knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping customers get the most out of their RISO devices.

But hearing the feedback and seeing it in action are two very different things.

So recently, I (Anisha Sharma) joined Adrian one of our skilled technical team on a customer visit to experience first-hand what a typical day looks like for one of our technical specialists – and to understand why our customers speak sohighly of the support they receive.

More Than a Service Call

From the moment we arrived, was clear that our technical team put customer satisfaction first on every call-out.

Adrian took the time to carry out a thorough inspection of the machine – carefully cleaning, checking components, and making sure everything was running exactly as it should. Every step was calm, methodical, and precise. Nothing rushed.Nothing overlooked.

But what really stood out wasn’t just the technical expertise – it was theconversation.

Throughout the visit, Adrian spent time talking through what he was doing, answering questions, and offering practical advice tailored specifically to how the customer uses their machine day to day. From best practices and preventativemaintenance tips, to small adjustments that can make a big difference over time, the focus was always on empowering the customer.

This wasn’t just maintenance – it was partnership.

The Human Side of Technical Support

One of the most common things our customers tell us is how approachable and reassuring our engineers are. Seeing this in person made it completely clear why.

There was no jargon, no pressure, and no “in and out” mentality. Instead, there was genuine care, patience, and a clear desire to leave the customer feeling confident, supported, and informed.

Questions were encouraged. Advice was freely shared. And every interaction reinforced the trust that customers place in RISO UK.

Why Our Customers Value RISO UK Technical Services

Spending the day with Adrian highlighted exactly why so many of our customers take the time to leave such positive feedback:

  • Thorough, proactive servicing – not just fixing issues, but preventing future ones
  • Clear, honest advicetailored to each customer’s environment
  • Time taken on-site – no rushing, no cutting corners
  • Friendly, knowledgeable engineerswho genuinely care

It’s this combination of technical excellence and human connection that makes our service team such a vital part of the RISO UK experience.

Here is a brilliant review from a long-standing customer in the political sector, who has trusted RISO for many years. It was a real pleasure hearing the stories and memories they shared along the way – proof that it’s never just a job.

“About 25 years ago, my late husband Graham decided to stand as a candidate in an election, and he needed to order some leaflets, but he couldn’t find a local printer who stocked recycled paper and could do it in a timely and reliablefashion. He realised that other groups would need the same, so he turned his garage into a printshop and started his own business, Hillingdon Greenprint Limited. He bought an environmentally-friendly machine – his first Risograph with one black and a one greendrum. Over the years, he upgraded by stages to a more automated, full-colour Inkjet Riso machine. This is so versatile that it can even produce a neat pile of fully-collated, folded and stapled booklets. He really appreciated the quality of all the Riso equipment, and developed wonderful working relationships with the service team and the admin staff at the end of the phone. Hillingdon Greenprint Limited found a niche helping small businesses, community organisations and campaigns all over the country with short-runbespoke printing and mailing services. A typical job would be to print 5000 individually addressed membership letters, each with a newsletter booklet and an envelope to mail it in. His current machine has had very heavy use for over 10 years and still workswell. I would have no hesitation in recommending Riso for reliable and environmentally-friendly printing technology, and people-friendly staff”.
