RISO’s commitment to eco-friendly printing
As a global leader in the printing industry, we have a responsibility to help protect our planet and minimise the impact we have on the environment.
With designing eco-friendly products in our DNA, our unique ForceJetTM technology has an environmental advantage which delivers a more productive, resource-efficient, and sustainable way of printing. One that is better for everybody.
- Up to 91% energy saved*
- Reduced maintenance costs leading to long-lasting durability.
*Based on average print volumes compared with toner devices
Reduce your waste and save energy with RISO
Based on RISO testing and calculations, after 2,000,000, our devices use up to 96% less waste, further emphasising the sustainable printing benefits.

*Based on a 45ppm Typical Toner Based MFP
** Based on a 140ppm RISO MFP

*On a speed to noise ratio RISO Inkjet wins hands down as most toner based competitors even at much lower speeds cannot match the quietness of our New FT Series Inkjet devices

Energy-saving operations
No heat is used during the print-imaging stage, so less electricity is needed. This energy efficiency adds up to significant cost savings over the life of the printer.
In independent testing, the RISO ComColor FT5230 saved enough energy compared to a laser rival in one daily printing task to light a classroom for three weeks**
**Based on Keypoint Intelligence testing published in the RISO ComColor FT Series white paper- Sept 2021.

Outstanding durability
As there are fewer parts that need regular maintenance on our inkjet printers such as drums, fusers, transfer belts etc. compared with toner devices, overall maintenance costs and strains on natural resources are reduced.
Productivity with eco-efficiency
Reduced energy consumption
The speed of the ComColor significantly reduces the time spent printing. By decreasing printing times, the ComColor uses up to 91% less electricity than comparable copiers and printers, thus delivering significant savings on energy bills.
While maintaining high-speed printing, RISO’s cold inkjet technology ensures reduced CO₂ emissions, contributing to an eco-friendly printing strategy.
Power saving
We incorporate power-saving functions such as power schedule and sleep modes, both playing a major role in helping minimise electrical consumption during periods of non-usage.

RISO’s Plant A Tree initiative
RISO supports reforestation efforts by planting a tree for every machine purchased. Partnering with Ecologi, we’re committed to planting 100,000 trees, further contributing to sustainable printing practices. Our projects help local communities in Kenya, Madagascar, and Mozambique, providing jobs and improving livelihoods while restoring vital ecosystems.
The backbone of Ecologi’s growth and sustainable tree planting is their reforestation partners, one of which is the International Tree Foundation (ITF). Founded in 1922 in Kenya, ITF has been restoring and conserving forests and promoting a culture of forest stewardship ever since. Community consultation, engagement and leadership is the bedrock of ITF’s approach.
One of ITF’s projects RISO has contributed funding to is based in Dundori, a settlement in Kenya’s Rift Valley Province. The site has been supported by Ecologi since March 2022, and in total the Ecologi community has funded the planting of 500,000 trees! The project is community-led and was designed so that the local people will maintain full ownership of the project.
What makes this project so special is that the tree seedlings are raised by members of the local communities. With Ecologi’s funding, ITF buys these seedlings from the community members and provides basic tools, and tanks for water storage. The Community Forest Associations are allocated parcels of land by the Kenya Forest Service specifically for tree planting and crop growing. The planting, spot weeding, and replacement of seedlings that don’t survive the first year are carefully overseen by hired scouts, providing work for members of the community and security for the reclamation of the forests.

Nordic Swan compliance
RISO is proud that the inks for the Valezus V2 have been inspected by Nordic Swan, and they comply with the Nordic Swan Criteria 041 for printing houses and printed matter and can therefore be used in Nordic Swan labelled printed matter.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official nordic countries ecolabel. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel was established in 1989 by the Nordic Council of Ministers as a voluntary labelling scheme for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel supports reducing the environmental impact of the production and consumption of goods and is an effective tool to help companies that want to incorporate sustainable solutions. It makes it easy for consumers and professional buyers to choose the environmentally best foods and services.
